Sam Kwon

Sam Kwon is a Managing Director of Barings’ North America Direct Lending Group. Based in New York, he is responsible for originating, executing and monitoring North American private finance investments. Sam has worked in the industry since 2002. Prior to joining the firm in 2026, he served as a Partner at One Investment Management (OneIM), where he was Head of US Mid-Market Lending, and a Senior Managing Director at Varagon Capital Partners. Prior to that, Sam held senior roles at American Capital, The Carlyle Group, and Lightyear Capital. He began his career as an M&A analyst at UBS Investment Bank. Sam holds a BBA from Emory University.
